Carnival Day: Events Ground Attractions
This year, we will be featuring Bird of Prey displays run by experienced and professional falconers Xtreme Falconry, with a passion for the birds that will thrill the audience.
Their demonstrators have an extensive portfolio - presenting at Fetes, country shows and corporate events throughout the UK and pride themselves on displays that are educational without being boring, combined with lots of crowd interaction and participation. The birds are flown to demonstrate their outstanding natural abilities so that the audience can observe the awesome power of the Eagles, cute and cuddly Owls and Falcons swooping past at 150mph!
Staffie and Stray Rescue is a registered charity (No. 1163631) which covers Bournemouth and the surrounding area. The aim of the rescue is to take on unwanted and stray dogs with the aim to rehabilitate them and place them in to foster homes with the view to find them forever homes. The rescue furthermore aims to change the negative stigma surrounding the Staffordshire bull terrier and encourage people to 'meet and greet' a Staffie in order to overcome these common misconceptions. The rescue is entirely volunteer based and self-funded.
The rescue are proud to be able to present and run a Fun Dog Show at Corfe Mullen Carnival to raise necessary funding to be able to support the dogs in their care. The dog show welcomes all breeds to enter with categories such as "Favourite Crossbreed" and "Dog and Owner Lookalike". At just £1 a class, visitors are able to pay as they enter the dog ring or simply sit back and enjoy the show!
Portable Miniature Railway
Wimborne District Society of Model Engineers is a small group of engineers and railway enthusiasts, young and old, who run a 5-inch gauge miniature railway at Cobham’s Sports & Social Ground on the edge of Wimborne.
The railway contains full signals, tunnel, bridges and stations as well as a picnic area, and is open to the public on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month between Easter and Halloween. We do not charge for entering the site or riding the trains and rely on kind donations from visitors to our public running days to support our club.
We have brought our portable miniature railway to this year’s Carnival to provide rides for your enjoyment.
If you enjoy your ride at the Carnival, why not pop along and enjoy a longer train ride on our picturesque little Dorset railway?
It is well worth spending some time listening to the acts on the Performance Stage.

Events Ground Layout
The layout has been redesigned to avoid the risk to spectators associated with the movement of floats into and out of the arena.
There will be two arenas this year, allowing for the Dog Show to be held at the same time as the Birds of Prey displays.
The diagram shown is likely to be amended when the space required for stalls and activities is better known.
Similarly to previous years, we will be making two standard widths of pitch available: 3 metres wide x 8 metres deep or 4 metres wide x 8 metres deep and these will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis. The success of recent Carnivals has resulted in a significant increase in enquires from vendors, so please book early to avoid disappointment.
Please note that all Stallholders are required to provide evidence that they have the appropriate Insurance cover in place for the event. In addition, a written risk assessment specifically relevant to your activity at the Corfe Mullen Carnival, will be required when returning your stall booking form. Should you wish to discuss the requirements of risk assessment, please contact the Stall Bookings Co-ordinator as soon as possible.
The Carnival organisers are committed to ensuring that all activities provide the opportunity of inclusion for all. If your stall/activity is in any way restrictive (i.e. people with disabilities are unable to take part) please inform the Stall Bookings Co-ordinator and indicate this on your booking form. Should this be due to insurance reasons, we will require you to provide a copy of the relevant paragraphs from your insurance policy.

Please note that Bookings and Payments must be received by 30th April 2019 - we cannot guarantee pitch allocation for late bookings.
