Community First Responders (CFRs) operate within the communities in which they live or work providing lifesaving emergency aid ahead of ambulance arrival. They are trained and governed by the South Western Ambulance Service with charitable donations used to enhance and extend the support the CRFs can provide to their local communities.
Each CFR has a restricted, ring fenced fund within the South Western Ambulance Charity’s accounts. There are 6 volunteers in the Corfe Mullen and Wimborne group and they work in an area covered by Corfe Mullen, Wimborne, Broadstone, Merley, Colehill and the surrounding area.
The funds donated by the Corfe Mullen Carnival will be put towards the ongoing upkeep of their charity funded first response vehicle and money will also be used to purchase equipment which enables enhanced support to patients. Further information about the work of the South Western Ambulance Charity can be found on social media @swambulancecharity.
